Privacy Policy

RouteUp (the "App") is a mobile application that provides electric vehicle users with route planning and charging station services. This Privacy Policy, prepared in accordance with Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK"), explains which personal data is collected when you use the App, the purposes for which it is processed, where and for how long it is stored, and your rights regarding that data.

Data Controller
Your personal data is processed by Yunus Çatma, owner and developer of the RouteUp app ("we", "us"), as the data controller. For any questions or requests regarding this policy, you can contact us at hello@routeup.info.

Data We Collect and Store
The following personal data is collected and stored through the App. No personal data other than what is listed here is stored.
2.1 Account Information
•First and last name
•Email address. If you choose to hide your email address when using Sign in with Apple, only the relay (private relay) address generated by Apple is stored instead of your real address; we do not have access to your real email address.
2.2 Device and Connection Information
•Phone model
•Operating system (software) version
•IP address
2.3 Route Information
The following information is stored for each route you create in the App. The starting location of the route is not stored.
•Destination name
•Destination location (coordinates)
•Estimated driving time
•Driving distance
•Your route preferences (e.g. options you select when creating a route)
2.4 Saved Locations and Favorites
•Your home and work addresses (only if you choose to save them)
•Destinations you add to your favorites
•Charging stations you add to your favorites
2.5 Vehicle Information
•Your vehicle's make and model
•License plate
•Battery capacity
2.6 Analytics Data
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand and improve how the App is used. The following data is collected automatically for this purpose:
•In-app usage events (e.g. screens viewed, features used, number and length of sessions)
•App instance ID, device model, operating system version, app version, and language setting
•Approximate location derived from your IP address (country/city level; not precise location)
Analytics data is evaluated only as aggregate statistics and is not used for advertising.
2.7 Tesla Account Connection (Optional)
If you choose to connect your Tesla account to the App, the following data is processed, limited to the scope you approve on Tesla's authorization screen:
•Access and refresh tokens issued by Tesla — stored
•Your vehicle's ID, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), and the vehicle name shown in the Tesla app — stored
•Battery charge level and charging status — retrieved from Tesla only at the moment of your request and shown to you; not stored permanently
Your Tesla password is never shared with us; sign-in takes place directly on Tesla. When you disconnect your Tesla account, your tokens and vehicle information are deleted immediately.

Data We Do Not Collect or Store
•Your real-time location is not recorded or stored. Location permission is used only while you are using the App, to create routes and show your position on the map.
•Your location history and the path you drive are not recorded.
•Your personal data is not used for advertising or profiling.

Purposes and Legal Grounds for Processing
Your personal data is processed for the following purposes:
•Creating and managing your account and keeping you signed in
•Providing route planning, charging stop suggestions, and range calculations tailored to your vehicle
•Storing your saved routes, addresses, and favorites and making them available to you again across your devices
•Showing your vehicle's charging information if you connect your Tesla account
•Ensuring the App works correctly across different devices and software versions, and fixing errors
•Improving the service by analyzing App usage through aggregate statistics (analytics data)
•Keeping the service secure and preventing unauthorized access and abuse (IP address)
•Complying with our legal obligations
This data is processed on the legal grounds set out in Article 5(2) of KVKK: processing is directly related to the conclusion or performance of a contract (subparagraph c), necessary to comply with a legal obligation (subparagraph ç), and necessary for our legitimate interests provided that it does not harm your fundamental rights and freedoms (subparagraph f).

How Data Is Collected
Your personal data is collected electronically by automated means: through information you enter in the App, the account provider you sign in with (e.g. Apple), technical information the App obtains automatically from your device, and, optionally, the Tesla account you connect.

Where Data Is Stored and International Transfers
Your personal data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure provided by Google LLC. Because Firebase servers are located outside Türkiye, your data is stored abroad.
Analytics data is likewise processed on Google servers abroad through Google Analytics for Firebase.
In this context Google acts solely as a data processor providing infrastructure (hosting) and analytics services; it stores your data on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions and may not use it for its own purposes.

Data Sharing
Your personal data is not shared with, sold, or rented to any third party or company.
The only exceptions to this rule are:
•Google (Firebase and Google Analytics for Firebase), the infrastructure and analytics provider where the data is stored, solely to provide hosting and analytics services on our behalf
•If you connect your Tesla account, requests sent to Tesla to retrieve your vehicle information, using only the token created with your approval
•Where there is a court order or legal obligation, disclosure to competent public authorities to the extent required by law

Data Retention
Your personal data is retained for as long as your account is active.
If you delete your account, all personal data linked to your account is permanently deleted from our systems immediately. Analytics data, which is linked to an app instance ID rather than your account, is deleted automatically at the end of the retention period set in Google Analytics. Data that must be retained longer by law is kept only for the period required by the relevant legislation.

Security
The following technical and administrative measures are applied to keep your data secure:
•All data transferred between the App and our servers is encrypted with TLS/HTTPS
•Data stored on Firebase is encrypted at rest by Google
•Access to data is restricted through authorization with Firebase Security Rules
No system is 100% secure. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, please contact us immediately.

Children's Privacy
RouteUp is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect data from this age group. If you become aware that a child under 13 has provided data, please notify us and that data will be deleted promptly.

Your Rights Under KVKK
Under Article 11 of KVKK, by applying to the data controller you have the right to:
•Learn whether your personal data is being processed
•Request information about the processing if it has been processed
•Learn the purpose of processing and whether data is used in line with that purpose
•Know the third parties, in Türkiye or abroad, to whom your personal data is transferred
•Request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data
•Request deletion or destruction of your data under the conditions set out in Article 7 of KVKK
•Request that correction, deletion, or destruction be notified to third parties to whom the data was transferred
•Object to an outcome against you arising from analysis of your data exclusively through automated systems
•Claim compensation for damages arising from unlawful processing of your personal data
To exercise these rights, send your request to hello@routeup.info from the email address registered to your account. Requests are resolved free of charge within 30 days at the latest.

Third-Party Links
The App may contain links to external navigation apps such as Apple Maps or Google Maps, or to charging network operators' platforms. When you use these links, the relevant service's own privacy policy applies; we are not responsible for those services' data practices.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If there is a material change to the data we collect or the purposes for which it is processed, we will notify you in advance via in-app notification or email. The current version is always published on this page.
